Proposed River Nore Snap net season extension byelaw 2014

This proposed Bye-Law provides for an extension to the current restricted season for the River Nore Snap net fishery. It is proposed to extend the closing date of the season from the 24th of July 2014 to the 15th of August 2014 (15th of August is the normal closing date of the fishery) and to allow fishing Tuesday to Friday rather than Monday to Thursday. This extension is proposed following the poor catch to date.

The fishery is managed on a quota system which limits the number of fish which can be caught. All salmon and sea trout over 40 cm caught by the Snap net must be tagged with a white gill tag. The full draft of the byelaw is available to download:

Submissions can be made to IFI Clonmel by email at Clonmel@fisheriesireland.ie or by post to

Closing date for receipt of submissions is 23rd July 2014.
