A host of leading inter-county stars joined TG4 broadcaster Máire Ní Bhraonáin at the stunning Aasleagh Falls on the River Erriff along the Mayo and Galway border to mark the launch of the 2021 TG4 All-Ireland Championships.

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association and Championship sponsors, TG4, asked Inland Fisheries Ireland to help with their announcement and the iconic Aasleagh Falls was selected as the perfect backdrop for this week’s launch.

The players in attendance were Lyndsey Davey (Dublin), Blaithín Mackin (Armagh), Niamh Kelly (Mayo), Aishling O’Connell (Kerry), Sinéad Kenny (Roscommon), Fiona Claffey (Westmeath), Gráinne McLoughlin (Antrim) and Niamh McCarthy (Limerick).

Peil na mBan Beo will be available to audiences globally on the TG4 Player at www.tg4.ie/beo and on the TG4 Mobile and Smart TV App.

This announcement comes as 2021 marks the 21st season of TG4’s sponsorship of the All-Ireland Ladies Football Championships – and the 21st year of live TV coverage of the All-Ireland Finals.

Assisted by Padraic O’ Malley of Inland Fisheries Ireland, the photoshoot to launch the 2021 Championships took place at the base of Aasleagh Falls. This is same location where scenes from the Oscar-nominated movie, ‘The Field,’ were filmed with Richard Harris back in 1990.
