The project received planning consent from Waterford City & County Council in July 2023;

A contractor has been appointed and construction commenced in July 2025. The project is now on pause with construction to recommence for the summer 2026 construction window.

The rock ramp fish passage solution will greatly enhance fish passage on this important river system and lead to improved spawning outcomes for a range of fish species that inhabit the system.
