The project is currently at Phase 1 Feasibility and Option selection. An Engineering Consultant will soon be appointed to progress with the Preliminary Design of the barrier mitigation. 

The Consultant will be responsible for undertaking hydrological assessments, developing hydraulic models, and preparing the documentation required to secure OPW consent to the IFI proposals. This will include the preparation of a Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) and an evaluation of the hydraulic model outputs with respect to culvert capacity. 

Following completion of these activities, the mitigation option selection process will be finalised. In parallel, an environmental specialist has been appointed to carry out and report on the Ecological Surveys and Assessment.
