The project is currently at Stage II(i) Preliminary design/planning consent.  The preferred option has been selected based upon various environmental and technical considerations. The Planning Application was submitted by the consultant on 7th November 2025.

Planning application approval is expected to be received in Q1 2026. Subject to planning consent being achieved it is hoped to commence river restoration works in July 2026.
