The project to mitigate the barrier at Brett’s Weir is at Stage 1 Feasibility.  An engineering consultant has recently been appointed to progress a suitable mitigation at this large weir barrier on the River Nore, south of Kilkenny City.  Upon completion of the feasibility report it is currently envisaged that the project may proceed to Stage 2 Outline Design and Planning Consent in late 2026.
