Inland Fisheries Ireland is seeking a Judicial Review of decision to grant Aquaculture Licence

Inland Fisheries Ireland has confirmed that it is seeking a judicial review into the decision made by the Aquaculture Licences Appeals Board to grant an Aquaculture Licence for the cultivation of Atlantic Salmon at Shot Head, Bantry Bay in Co. Cork.

Inland Fisheries Ireland is the state agency that has responsibility for the protection and conservation of freshwater fish and habitats.

As the matter is due before the High Court on Tuesday, September 28th, it will not be possible for Inland Fisheries Ireland to make any further comments at this stage in the process.
