Fishery for licence: Bog Lake , The Heath, Laois
The Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland (CPW), wish to invite tender applications from angling groups and organisations for the management of the The Bog Lake on the Great Heath of Maryborough, Portlaoise, County Laois. The Great Heath of Maryborough, which is in the ownership of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and managed by the CPW, is located approximately 6km north east of Portlaoise town centre.
The Bog Lake is a carp and coarse fishery and the licencing term will run from the date of issue until 31st December 2020. Applicants are asked to tender a fee along with any biosecurity, maintenance and/or development works they would hope to carry out during the period. Applicants should also include a copy of their club constitiution. It is envisaged that another tendering process will be conducted in December of 2020 for a licence with a longer three to five year term .
As The Bog Lake is located on a commonage, access to the fishery should be available to all and applicants should note that the CPW will only consider applications from clubs or organisations who are willing to make the fishery available to non-club members.
Applications submitted should include the following details regarding day permits:
- how/where permits can be purchased,
- how/where day permits will be advertised,
- rates to be charged for day permits.
The closing date for applications is the 29th of March 2019 and applications received after this date will not be considered.
