FERMOY WEIR FLY FISHING ONLY (NO. 4 OR LISMORE DISTRICT) (MUNSTER BLACKWATER) BYE-LAW NO. 961 OF 2018
Please take notice that with effect from 28 June 2018 it is prohibited for any person:
- to fish, except for fly fishing on a catch and release basis using a single barbless hook, on that part of the waters of the River Blackwater, in the No. 4 or Lismore District, that lies between the crest of the weir known as Fermoy weir, iand an imaginary line drawn across the river at a right angle to the Mill Race wall from a point on the south bank which is 10 metres downstream from the point at which the weir meets the Mill Race wall to a point on the north bank.
Or: - for any person to have in his or her possession any mounted fishing rod at or on the weir known as Fermoy weir
Or: - to fish from the weir known as Fermoy Weir.

Section 57 (7) of the Inland Fisheries Act, 2010 provides that any person aggrieved by this Bye-law may within 28 days after ist publication in Irish Oifigiuil, appeal against same to the High Court.
