International conference in Ireland
Connectivity - the way forward in Managing our Fisheries.
Working together with all sectors to develop synergies to protect the environment and develop economic growth.
The Ireland Branch will host a major fisheries Conference centring around “Connectivity - the way forward in Managing our Fisheries.” We will be looking at connectivity in its widest sense. Our understanding of connectivity is
- firstly, providing continuity of river and lake ecosystems back from disjointed systems to continuous systems not just for fisheries but all forms of plants and animals living in or near rivers.
- Secondly connecting all involved in environmental management, state, private and voluntary sectors, to better utilise available resources.
We believe this is the way forward to the successful management of inland Fisheries and this Conference will give an opportunity for those involved in or associated with the sector to learn and discuss the implications of this process.
The Conference is supported by Inland Fisheries Ireland and DCAL, Northern Ireland Fisheries Operations and Technical Support .
The Conference will be held on Thursday 28th April 2011. The venue will be Ashbourne Marriott Hotel, Ashbourne, County Meath. (within easy reach of Dublin city and airport) Conference Fee €20.
