Establishment of Fishery Officer Panels

Over the following 24 months IFI will be recruiting to the position of Fishery Officer. The main duties associated with these positions are as outlined below;

General Duties and Responsibilities
The Fishery Officer will be primarily concerned with the implementation and enforcement of the provision of the Fisheries Acts, Water Pollution Acts and other relevant statutory provisions. He/she is required to

  • Provide, in co-operation with other fisheries staff, comprehensive conservation and protection services, inland and at sea, within any part of a fisheries district and/or any other area assigned within one or more fisheries districts.
  • Provide, in co-operation with other fisheries staff, comprehensive improvement, and development and fisheries management support services within any part of a fisheries district and/or any other area assigned within one or more fisheries districts.
  • In certain instances positions may arise where specialist skills or experience is required e.g. Irish language skills for certain districts. Suitable candidates may be selected for the purpose of filling such vacancies. Therefore please state on your application any relevant skills.
