As part of the Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) Research Seminar Series, Dr Kyle Young, a Research Associate from the University of Zurich, was recently invited to Ireland to give a presentation on his novel approach to enhance wild Atlantic salmon production in river systems. Fisheries Expert from Norway visits the National Salmonid Index Catchment

Dr Eva Thorstad from the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) recently visited the National Salmonid Index Catchment. Dr Thorstad is a world renowned salmonid biologist and sea lice expert.

Danish Telemetry Expert visits Ireland’s National Salmonid Index Catchment

Danes visit the Erriff

Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) welcomed a recent visit from Dr Niels Jepsen, from the Danish Technical University’s National Institute of Aquatic Resources, to the Erriff catchment.
Dr Jepsen, an international sea trout researcher who specialises in fish telemetry, visited the River Erriff fishery, which is situated on the Galway-Mayo border and functions as the National Salmonid catchment.
